Employers for example, can monitor your work computer to make sure you are not surfing the web, or shopping online when you are supposed to be working. But, what about someone spying on you while you’re at a bus station or walking down the street? Someone could be using something as inconspicuous as a pen to film your every move. Some people do it just because they can, or they’re bored or they want their 15 minutes of fame by putting you up on YouTube. It could be your kid brother, who got a spy kit for their birthday and are dying to try it out!
Basically, you need to be more alert when you are out in public and take notice of someone who you think is following you or is acting suspicious. When at home, look for anything that’s out of place. In your bedroom, you can listen for discreet sounds that you would not normally hear; this is the camera turning and clicking. If your radio changes stations or your TV gets fuzzy reception on a frequent basis, this could be due to the camera’s signals interfering.
A camera could be in the form of a pen, a clock, a light, a phone, even eyeglasses. Educate yourself on the most up to date technologies and be more aware of your surroundings when you are out in public. Take note of anyone who acts suspiciously or seems to be following you. Report it to the police right away. If you become more alert about your surroundings, you will be better able to tell if someone has malicious intentions towards you. Your right to privacy is a serious issue; don’t let someone invade on one of your most precious commodities.
